The 11th Anniversary of our Kickstarter Campaign

Well - it's officially the 11th Anniversary of our failed Kickstarter Campaign to create the first fully playable Field Hockey Computer game.

We took the "Go Big or Go Home" approach seriously and set our goal to a whopping £330,000. In total (before we cancelled the campaign) we received £7,357 in backing from 171 backers.

So fast forward 11 years and where is the project at? Well the short version is not very far but in the longer version I am still very passionate about this project and I refuse to give up.

Personally my biggest issue was and still is experience - I don't come from a games development background but a web development background and I've discovered it is very difficult to rely on other people to be as passionate about the project as I am. Money talks and ultimately you either need the money to pay someone to do what you cannot do or you learn to do it yourself.

Fund or Learn

So, which approach have I decided upon? Well, a bit of both I have been learning how to make games in Unity but I am also trying to create revenue streams that I can use to recruit more help and equipment

But finding a healthy life work balance, having a family etc all slow things down, and that isn't a bad thing.

In short - if you have followed this project this far - don't give up on me - keep watching this space something might just surprise you!
